You're my cup of tea!

Good Morning,

I have a bright and cheerful card here for you today.  One of the things I love about my friends is that we are all different on the outside, but we have so many similarities on the inside.  Thus the inspiration for this card.

I love getting together for tea/coffee with my girly girls.  So this goes out to all of you!

I enjoyed coloring this one immensely. Then put it all together with the design paper, brads, charm and button.

I am fond of Coffee, but love Earl Grey Tea.  What do you enjoy drinking with your circle of friends?

Happy Krafting,
Hugs,
Tanya

Art Journalling: Book Inspiration

Hello,

I saw the SDC#156: Book Inspiration challenge.  They asked what our favorite book was, and to use that to inspire a piece of art.  I had just gotten a new sketchbook in the mail, so I decided to do an art journal page.  Now please keep in mind, I am new at Art Journalling, so this may look messy to you.  But that is part of the attraction for me.  My cards have to be crisp balanced and pretty.  My art journal can be messy, ugly, unorganized too.

My favorite book is The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton.  She was 16 when she wrote it.  I loved the book because it showed a group of kids sticking by each other, even though their lives were difficult.I read it for the first time when I was 14, after seeing the movie.  And like the good hoarder I am, I bought all her other books too. LOL!

This book introduced me to Robert Frost's "Nothing Gold Can Stay" poem.  It is still one of my favorites, although it leaves me with a sadness inside.  I think it was the first time I felt something after reading poetry!

As you will see I put a couple of important quotes on my pages.  I used Stampotiques  Smile stamp to represent Johnny Cade, and Pigtales to represent Cherry Valance, and Eric as Ponyboy Curtis.  The Picture Door stamp was used to represent the movie theatre's door in the first page of the book.

So?  What is your favorite book?

Happy Krafting,
Hugs

She Stole my Heart

Hello,

Happy Sunday.  It is raining, and I have to say I am a bit relieved.  The kids have friends over, and that means time to clean, craft, spend time with the husband!

Here is another card made with the amazing SunnyCDolls rubber stamps.  Did you know she also makes prints that are available in her Etsy store?  I have framed 2 of her postcards and they are up in my art room.  Inspiration at it's finest!

I used a light yellow and orange ink as my main inking stamp for the image.  I then went about using my pencils and gamsol.  I am LOVING the way they are turning out.  Soft and subtle.

What are you up to today?  Please leave me a message.  I love hearing all about what you are doing.

Happy Krafting,
Hugs,
Tanya

Summer Sweet!

Hello!

I am quite excited to show you what I have created with my new SunnyCDolls rubber stamps. I found her art on Etsy HERE  and it was just so different.  This one is called "I'm licked".  I adore the little skully stamps on the right side too.

I am trying to draw as of late, and Sunny Carvalho's work is inspiring.  I am always impressed with woman who find their own way of drawing and creating art.  Something to aspire to for sure.

This creation was all about trying a new technique. I used colored ink to stamp the image (instead of my bold black ink).  I then proceeded to color it in with my pencils, and blended it in with Gamsol.  It really gives it a watercolor look don't you think?

Who inspires you?  Be sure to leave me a link, I always love being introduced to new artists.

Happy Krafting!
Hugs,
Tanya
