Happy Birthday!

Happy 6th Birthday to my Jimmer Jam! My baby turned 6 yesterday. She is full of happiness, and overnight, she looks older, is reading French books to me, and just one happy girl.

She is going through a phase where she is just OVERLY cuddly, and it reminds me of when she was just a baby. I carried her in a sling so that I could keep up with her older sister. She still likes to listen to my heart when I read her a story at night.

Tomorrow is her party at Build-a-Bear. She is having 6 friends make Teddy Bears with her. They pick out a bear, pick out a heart, say something happy and make a wish while holding the heart, then put it in their bear, stuff them and then fill out adoption papers. Such fun! Jayme will be in heaven, as she ADORES stuffed animals.

This is her card, the same image used for her invitations. I try to incorporate her card every year with the invitations, and then put them in a memory box for her.

 Have a wonderful weekend!
 Hugs,
Tanya

Birthday Invitations

Hello,

It has been almost 3 months since I posted.  I have been thoroughly enjoying life with my girls, and catching up on my reading and my Yoga practice.  I feel strong, energized, loved, and capable of giving again.  I recently crafted with my friend Sheena, and I have got that Crafter's Itch.

The above are my daughter's 6th Birthday invitations.  My two daughters and I colored Popcorn The Bear, a stamp I recently purchased from Heather's Stamping Haven. We created these handmade invitations to send out my daughter's friends.  They are attached to a coloring page that has all the details of the party.  She is having it at Build-A-Bear.  She is UBER excited too.

Hopefully I will have more to show you, I think I am going to start small, doing some tags, as I have really enjoyed the simple act of coloring with my pencils again.  I have even re-arranged my craft room and cleaned it up somewhat.  I have placed items that were gifted to me from my Oma around the room,  she was one talented artist who worked with fabric and paint.  You can see her handmade doll in my chair.  ( I miss you Oma.  It was nice spending some time in your home this past week, while on vacation.  It still feels like you are there.  My girls enjoyed swimming in the pool, as I did when I was a child living with you.)

Have a super Saturday, and be sure to stay cool on this HOT HOT day.  I think we are off to the splash park this afternoon, after we drop off the invitations.

Hugs,
Tanya

Simon Says Stamp and Show "Anything Goes"

Hello,

Long time no post. Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge has us submitting "Anything Goes" this week. So what better place to enter Lady Audrey from The Octopode Factory. There was a challenge a few months back that asked us to use masking tape on our cards. I never got around to doing it then, but threw it into this creation. I got my fingers inky, glittery, and gluey, and simply had fun.

What are you working on ladies?

Hugs,
Tanya

Fashion A La Octopode Factory

Good Morning,

What better way to turn 40 than by creating with the talented design team over at The Octopode Factory. This weeks Octopode Factory Friday challenge is FASHION. I decided to use the fabulous Miss Willow to create this humorous card.

Thanks Lily for allowing me to be a guest designer, and for creating these fabulous images for us to get crafty with.

Have a wonderful day,
Hugs
Tanya

P.S  Be sure to check out Lily's blog HERE.

Entering this into the Basic Grey Challenge too, the green is my favorite Spring color as of late.

Took the time to color

Hello,

I made this card in February for my friend Dawn. I adore this paper! I really took my time coloring the picture, using pointalism to give the folliage texture. It was pretty meditative. I tried to embellish here and there, but the picture and the paper were just so bold, that I left it this way.

Have a fab day!

You're Cool!

Hello,

Long time to post. I have been spending a lot of quality time with my family, and thus very little time in my craft room. But I am ok with that, my girls are simply growing up way to fast, and I don't want to miss a thing. I feel myself approaching my creations differently this year, I am excited to see what that means.

Anyhoo, enough babble. The above card was used as a birthday card, and I just adore Glaeken. He is one of the Octopode Factory Steampunk Dudes.

I used my pencils on kraft paper, and stuck to a black and white theme.  I think he turned out super cool!

Have a great evening/morning,
Hugs
Tanya

P.S  I am going to throw him into The Octopode Factory's "Boys will be boys challenge".

The Octopode Shades of Grey Prompt

Hello,

I got my Octopode Factory stamps, yippee!  I have been stuck in books lately, more specifically "The Walking Dead" comics.  This Sunday is part 2 of Season 2, so I will soon be able to get my TV fix as well.

The prompt this week at The Octopode Factory Friday Challenge is to use grey.  The comics I am reading  are black and white, I always have ripped pieces of paper keeping my spot, so working with the black and white prompt, I came up with this bookmark.  I actually made something for me, I am just so giddy too.

My girls actually like these images too, and my 7 year old wants to make 3 bookmarks for herself now.  I can't wait to see what she comes up with.  Currently she is coloring in  Lady Audrey.

Have a good night,
Hugs,
Tanya

Playing in The Sugar Bowl

Good Morning,

Yet another Birthday Card required for my daughter. I usually get them to make it themselves, but with school and homework, the weeks have just been flying by. I am playing along with The Sugar Bowl this week, using Gayle's sketch, and the Paper Piecing theme. Nothing says fun like Sassafras papers, and this adorable "Catch a Falling Star" Sugar Nellie stamp. I paper pieced her skirt and the star this time. A fun technique for sure.

I hope you are having a fabulous Monday.
Hugs,
Tanya

Glorious Greens with Gingersnap Creations

Good Morning,

A New Year, New stamps, and a New challenge. My husband bought me some wonderful Stampotique Origninals stamps for Christmas, I am just loving the Daniel Torrente and Jill Penney stamps. Stampotique has a website where you can build a wish list and have it emailed to someone. Pretty handy, my husband has a list now, I just have to keep hinting now and then, and who knows maybe I will get the occasional surprise :)

This pretty gal is named Portland, and I am playing along with Gingersnap Creations "Glorious Greens" challenge this week.  Stampotique is sponsoring them, and it would be fab to win a 30$ gift certificate.   I am going to enter this into the Simon Says "Anything Goes" challenge as well.

This was made by paper cutting and gluing them together, a fast and easy method.  I used some Tim Holtz ink around the edges and colored Portland in with my Copic markers

Hope you are having a wonderful Friday,
Hugs,
Tanya

Playing in the Sugar Bowl

Hi Guys,

The sugar bowl had an interesting sketch this week, so I thought I would give it a go. The theme is Birthdays, and since my daughter has 2 this month it was a perfect time to get a card made for her to bring along.

This is one of the adorable Sugar Nellie Stamps I purchased in 2010. Yup, and I finally got to ink her up. I am taking it slow this year, taking the time to enjoy the process and enjoying getting back to using my Copic markers. I do want to point out the fab charm, if you ever get a chance, be sure to check out Nicole de Bruin's charms on ETSY. They are superb!

It is starting to snow outside, and I must go pick up my girls, they are going to be so excited about the snow. More tobogganing, or "bogganing" as my 5 year old likes to call it.

Happy Monday,
Hugs,
Tanya

For My Daughter

Hello,

My first post in 2012. I seem to have lost my Mojo. Actually I have been enjoying time with my family, and they have not been complaining one bit.

I am staying true to my New Years Resolutions, inking up stamps and using up my paper stash. The 2 stamps above have been sitting around getting dusty, and I have been meaning to ink them up together like this for some time. Well that time is now. This SCACD stamped image looks identical to my 7 year old daughter, horse collection and all. Thus this card will be given to her, just because. And of course she will squeal and hug me, because that is what she does when I give her one of my creations. Yes, she certainly is good for boosting my moral.

On a sad note,  PWCO has closed shop.  Being on the PWCO design team made my list of  2011 most memorable moments. I will certainly miss the whimsical stamps, the Anything But A Card posts, the fun blog hops and stamp releases.  Thanks Peggy, and thank you to all the DT gals, especially the fabulous DT coordinator Stephanie, I hope we all keep in touch.

Hugs,
Tanya
