2 Cute Rubber Stamps, Sassafras and Neutral grey

Good Morning,

This will be my last Saturday post before the new May schedule for
2 Cute Rubbers Stamps starts up. What this means ladies is that you will see bi-weekly Challenges, new Inspirational Posts, new stamps, and so much more. I am just so excited, and I hope that you are too.  For the month of May you will see me posting on Sundays.  We will have challenges for you to participate in starting May 3, 2011!  Hope to see you there!

Today I am using the Loli Hop Bunny 2 Cute rubber stamp.  This adorable stamp can be purchased in digital form at the 2 Cute Rubber Stamps Etsy Store.   Loli can also be found in rubber form at Heather's Stamping Haven.

I just could not resist using some Sassafras paper this week, since the sun has been hiding, alot, I really needed a dose of color.  Considering how bold the paper is, I had to do very little with it.  I toned it down a bit with some neutral grey ribbon, to match this guys fur. Since red loli's are one of my favorites, I went with that, and to add a bit of dimension I poped the center out with my circle punch.  The eyelets were used to balance out the white space of the card and I went with a 5 x 3 1/2  card size this week, very non-traditional for me.

Happy Krafting,
Hugs,
Tanya

The Pixie Cottage Challente #67

Good Morning,

Welcome to another Pixie Cottage Challenge.   We have this lovely pc #67 sketch for you to try out, or you can tackle our theme "It's a Royal Wedding".  However, if you are feeling up to the ultimate challenge, why not use both!

This one was very tricky for me, so I went with blue and white. That is the color of the engagement ring Kate is wearing. Yes, I am shocked at how much I know because I really don't follow the royals at all! I used Maisy and Matts Wedding, a Pixie Cottage stamp available at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More, as well as  Heather's Stamping Haven.

Don't forget, The Pixie Cottage has a Digital Design Team call out, as well as a Senior Design Team call that ends May 3rd.  Be sure to check out the details HERE, and send in your applications.

Happy Krafting ladies,
Hugs,
Tanya

First Communion Cards

Good Morning,

I am back with another 2 Cute Rubber Stamps Saturday post.  Our family will be celebrating our nieces First Communions this coming May.  We have 3 nieces and so I will be in need of 3 cards. These are the first two cards, and  I chose "Little Angel" because I thought her very appropriate for the event. I added the cross charm, and the bling to balance out the silver, filling in the remainder with delicate pearls.  I will be sure to post the final card this week on my blog. I always find it interesting how changing up the design paper can give a very different feel to a card.  And each of our nieces have very different personalities, hence the variety in colors, specifically chosen with each girl in mind.

This stamp and all of Heidi's 2 Cute Digi stamps can be found HERE.  I am just so impressed with the selection of digital images; no matter what event is happening there is a digital stamp that relates to it.  Thanks Heidi!

2 Cute Rubber Stamps is still on the lookout for some Design Team and Guest DT members.  Are you interested?  If so please email Tanya J at britanya94@yahoo.com

Happy Saturday, and a Happy Easter!
Hugs,
Tanya

Challenges this qualifies for are:

ABC challenge: S is for sparkle - her wings have glitter glue on them and the rhinestones sparkles!
Totally Gorjuss: Bling it on (rhinestones and glitter glue on the wings)

Happy Mail!

Hello,

Just a quick post showing you all this fab card Sheena sent me for my Bday! I just LOVE happy mail, don't you?  The best part was having my two girls ooh and awe over the card along with myself.  I get a kick out of how they express their enjoyment over artistic things.

I also got a new Blythe doll.  She is a mini Blythe of course because the real ones are like crazy expensive!  My girls thought I needed something for my desk, so they picked the girl in the pink hat for me.  Of course I had to agree to letting them play with her.  The art of sharing!

I don't know about you but I NEED this long weekend.  It is now 10 pm, and I am just getting up after falling asleep reading stories with the girls.  Perhaps I will head back to bed.

Have a great night,
Hugs
Tanya

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #66

Good Morning,

Welcome to The Pixie Cottage's "Once Upon a Wednesday" challenge #66. We have a marvelous sketch for you to use, and the theme for this challenge is " Happy Birthday". I chose to rotate the sketch and make another Easter Card, specifically because I borrowed this Buffy the Bunny and Easter Basket  Pixie Cottage stamp from Sheena, and Easter is this weekend!

This stamp can be found at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More, as well as Heather's Stamping Haven.  Is she not the cutest little bunny? She is popped up, and she is also texturized by taking Copic blender solution, dabbing some on a cloth, and then pressing it down on the image.

I am at a loss for words today ladies, so all I can do is wish you a fab Wednesday, and I can't wait to be inspired by all your entries.  Don't forget, you do not have to use a Pixie Cottage Stamp to participate, you simply have to use the theme and/or the sketch.

Happy Krafting,
Hugs

2 Cute Rubber Stamps

Good Morning,

It is once again time for my 2 Cute Rubber Stamps Saturday Post. This week I used Baby Chick, a variation from last weeks Easter Egg Chick.  You can purchase 2 Cute Rubber Stamps in Heidi's Etsy store HERE. This digital stamp comes with the Easter Egg Chickie purchase, a 2 for 1 deal!  Be sure to check with us next week, there will be some new releases coming your way!

Last week my eggs were decorated for Easter, this week they are brown.  I thought this would make an excellent "hello" card, for those days when you want to make someone's day.  I think it would also make an excellent "Welcome Baby" card too.

What are your plans for this weekend?  Other than the chores, and grocery shopping, my girl have a play date on Sunday.  I have finally figured out what Easter project I can do with them.  I will be sure to post their "Works of Art".

Happy Saturday!
Hugs,
Tanya

Sketches In Thyme Layout Challenge #44

Good Morning,

Today's Sketch Challenge #44 over at Sketches In Thyme has us using this fabulous sketch by Creative Genealogy Scrapbooking.  We hope you will play along, and inspire us!

This was supposed to be an Easter Layout, but since I have already scrapbooked the pictures from previous  Easter events , I decided to switch it up and create this fall layout.  I have to admit that my inspiration came about when I was cleaning up my craft room.  I found these old pumpkins that I had made from my oval punches, and I had to pair them up with our pictures from Miller's Farm this past October.  It is a simple layout, but one that I find visually pleasing.

The most time consuming part of this layout was creating the ruffled border on the bottom.  I used a strip of paper and scored it every 1/2 cm.  I then folded it back and forth to create the pleats, and taped it to my paper.  Keeping with the outdoor look, I laced some hemp twine throughout the pleats, and tied a bow.  I just had to incorporate some pins too, they are my favorite embellishment lately.

Happy Krafting ladies,
Hugs,
Tanya

The Pixie Cottage Challeng #65

Good Morning,

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #65 is in full swing and we are using the adorable sketch above, along with the theme "For Mom or Special Lady".  Once again, you get to decide if you want to use the sketch and/or the theme.

I used the sketch but did not rotate the center image.  My niece turned 11 this week, so I needed a card.  She is the very first niece in our family, and so she is certainly one Special Little Lady!  All the other nieces and nephews have watched her grow up, and indeed she is a role model for them.  I took the time to scrapbook with her last year, and this year she has decided to do more of it.  I am glad that I have been able to share my passion for crafting with my family members.  I get really excited when I see them take an interest because I know first hand how enjoyable this hobby can be.

My background image is The Pixie Cottage's Pleasant Porch Swing  available for purchase at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More.   Most people have been using Magnolia stamps with it, but  Sheena came over to craft in March, and she had the perfect TFG stamp for it.   Thanks Sheena she worked wonderfully!

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday ladies,
Happy Krafting,
Hugs,
Tanya

Karlye Cased My Card!

Karlye's Card

My Card

Last year I made this card for a TGF challenge.  My 6 year old daughter wanted to go through my cards the other day, and she found it.  She says to me "Mommy I could never make a card like yours."  and my reply was "Yes you can".  So we sat down, and I went through how I did it with her.  She did all her own coloring, and I really think her hair turned out better than mine did!  I did not have any of the paper left so she got out a lined piece of paper and drew the image behind the teacher.  She chose different glitter, used my glossy pens for the apple, but using the sewing machine was out of the question (for now).  She even used the Big Shot on her own, with a bit of coaching. I even had to get out the yellow fun flock because she noticed the fuzzy sweater vest on my card.

I am really proud of her.  My husband mentions that I have some tough competition, and I said "No doubt!"  I know Karlye will surpass me, and I am quite excited to see where her crafty passion takes her.  One day I will be casing her cards I bet!  Oh and she wanted to give her card to her teacher, so she even wrote her own message in it.  She is growing up too fast.

Enjoy your evening!
Hugs
Tanya

2 Cute Rubber Stamps News and Candy

Good Morning!

I am really really really excited today. I am now designing for 2 Cute Rubber Stamps, and this means you will see me posting every Saturday morning, using her fab digital and/or rubber stamps. I have been partial to rubber, I must admit, but this week I ventured into digital land with this Easter Egg Chickie Digital Image.

I got a craving to use my pencil crayons, and am really glad I did.  It was very soothing, and I even got a "Your coloring is really pretty Mommy" from my 6 year old. You may notice I distressed the edges a bit, and left some of the stitching hanging out the edges.  I wanted to give the card a "Bird's Nest" feel.  Birds are always picking up odds and ends and bits of string for their nests, and thus the inspiration for this card.

I would LOVE to see your 2 Cute Rubber Stamps creations. Leave me a link in the comment section with your creations OR head over HERE and offer Heidi your opinion and let me know that you have done so.  I will chose 1 lucky person, via Random.Org on April 20th, 2011 and they will receive 2 Free Digital Images of their choice from the 2 Cute Rubber Stamp store.

If you don't have any of the 2 Cute Rubber Stamps in your collection, you can head over HERE, there are 2 free digitals ready for downloading!

Have a great Saturday ladies,
Hugs

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #64

Good Morning,

Welcome to The Pixie Cottage's "Once Upon a Wednesday" challenge #64.    We have a marvelous sketch for you, and the theme for this challenge is Paper Piecing.  I tackled both, especially because I just love to paper piece.

As per the norm, I chose my design paper first.  Then I decided to use The Pixie Cottage's Girls of The World Cassidy stamp, available for purchase at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More.  She is such a fun girl to paper piece, and I did just that, matching her outfit with my design paper.

Have a wonderful Wednesday ladies,
Happy Krafting,
