A Pixie Cottage Creation and a Blog Hop Winner

The Pixie Cottage's Challenge #101 has a "Somebody Special" theme and is open for submissions during the next two weeks.  I always make my daughters there own personal card at Christmas and they are both Super special to me.  I used  "Sebastian The Snowman"  from Michelle's Scrapbooking and More, for my card.  He is just TOO CUTE!  I had to add some glitter and sparkle and of course some paper piecing for his tuque and scarf.

BLOG HOP WINNER

Now, last week we had a blog hop, and the winner from my blog is RIET.  Congratulations Riet, could you please contact Michelle to claim your free digital stamp.

Have a wonderful night, I hope all of you have completed your Christmas preparations.

PWCO's Sketch # 111

Good Morning,

PaperWorks Co. has posted it's last sketch for 2011. So if you need a little inspiration to get those last Christmas Cards done, why not try sketch # 111.  I chose to use PWCO's "A Little Haul of Cheer" stamp. A wonderfully festive and cute stamp.  Of course I switched up the angles, and went for a right angle triangle instead of the standard isosceles triangle. But that is what sketches are all about, being inspired, then making it your own.

Happy Thursday!  I wish you all a serene day.
Hugs,
Tanya

A PWCO Blast From The Past

Materials Used

Stamps: Aqua Amigos – Carlos the Crab
Paper: July 2011 PWCO PaperCard Kit
R02,R05, R08

Good Morning,

My Design Team commitment for 2011 over at PaperWorks Co. has come to an end.  I want to thank Peggy for giving me the opportunity to work on her FAB team. I also want to give a shout out to Stephanie, she totally ROCKED the Blog Coordinator position. This was such a fun team to work on, and I want to thank all the DT gals for welcoming me, and for the support.

This  last card was created using my absolute favorite PWCO PaperCard Kit in 2011. The July kit was full of bright papers that had me reaching for the Aqua Amigos Stamp set over and over. Carlos the Crab is just darling, and I just love popping him up too. He totally makes me smile, and that is always a good thing.

As we head into the winter months, I hope this sunny warm card helps dull the chill in the air.

Hugs,
Tanya

Stop and Scrap Give Away!

Good morning!

I am so excited to be part of the Stop and Scrap Christmas Countdown Give Away.
Stop and Scrap is an online crafting store with a superb selection of the latest and greatest paper and embellishments in the craft community.  I first found them when searching for Sassafras paper packs, which I have to say I got for an amazing price. Not to mention the shipping costs to Canada were amongst the most reasonable.

Did you know, they even have a rewards program. For every order you place with them you get points, and they can be traded in on your next order, lowering your cost.  Kind of like free money.

Today I get to give away one $25 gift certificate, and three $10 gift certificates! How FAB is that for a Saturday?

In order for you to qualify, simply leave me a comment telling me what the number 1 item is on your Christmas list.  If you don't celebrate Christmas, simply leave me a comment about what you enjoy doing throughout the month of December.  I like to keep it simple.

You don't have to be a follower, but I will be posting the winners next Saturday, December  17th, 2011, so be sure to check in to see if you are one of the lucky winners.
Happy Saturday!
Hugs,
Tanya

Sweet Hello

Good Morning,

My crafty goal for 2012 is to use up my stash.  You know, the stamps I bought over the past 2 years that have never been inked, the paper pads just sitting on my shelf, waiting to be cut, scored, torn etc.

I want to start feeling my way through my creative process, rather than think my way through it. And this is my first attempt to do all of the above.

I bought this wonderful stamp from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design (SCACD), well over a year ago. I took out some of my new pencils, bought over 3 months ago, and sat down to craft.  This image is so sweet.  It really evokes memories of me as a child just sitting and staring out my bedroom window, oblivious to the hustle and bustle of the adult world.

Hmm, I think I have a new goal to add to the list.  To find that quiet place every once in a while, where I am oblivious to the hustle and bustle of today.

Happy Thursday,
Hugs,
Tanya

A Blast From The Past

Materials Used
Paper: PWCO’s August 2011 PaperCard kit
Y23, Y26, Y32
Good Morning,

For the next couple of weeks I will be showcasing some of the previous month’s PWCO PaperCard Kits.  Hence the title “A Blast From The Past”.

I needed some masculine paper for my husbands anniversary card (we celebrated 9 years on November 30th), and while perusing through the August 2011 PWCO PaperCard kit, I found these delicious papers.  Since each kit comes with matching embellishments, the card came together quite easily.

I chose Lucas the Lion from the Safari Friends stamp set,  and inside the card I used the Safari Friends ” I am wild about you” sentiment stamp.  My husband loved the card, he is one of my biggest fans, and for that I love him even more.

Happy Monday,
Hugs,
Tanya

PWCO's ABAC Sunday

Zoie the Red Nosed Zebra,
Had a very shiny bell.
And if you ever heard it,
You would even say "That's Swell"

Good Morning,

This is my last ABAC creation for the month of November, and for the year!  WOW 2012 is just around the corner.

The flu and cold season has returned (yes I know, bite my tongue) so I decided to create a  Hand Sanitizer holder. I was gifted one of these from a wonderful gal name Elisabeth, and found a fab tutorial HERE on how to re-create it. I had to play around with the measurements though so don't be too upset if your first one does not work out, take some scrap paper first and play around with it.

While coloring  PWCO's Zoie The Zebra  I had Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer in my head (hence the poem above).  Zoie is one of the adorable Safari Friends Collection stamps. Who knew one little Zebra could be so versatile, and I love the fact that Zoie is not traditional, but totally acceptable for the Christmas/Holiday Season.

Happy Krafing,
Hugs,
Tanya

Being Odd

Good Morning,

I always like to take a look to see what the DT is creating over at SOG. What talent! I decided to try and give the recipe challenge a go.

I love the bright Sassafras paper, it awakens the little girl in me. This card is all about the tiny sentiment. Happy Place. Today my happy place was getting hugs from my two girls. My little one has the habit of snuggling into my neck and inhaling. I remember doing this with my Mom when I was younger. When she wasn't home and I needed comfort, I would sneak into her room and smell her pillow.

Where or what is your happy place?

Hugs,
Tanya

PWCO's ABAC Sunday

Materials Used
Y35, G05, G09, R17, R29, B00, E41

Good Morning,

Here with my ABAC Sunday Creation for PaperWorks Co.  It is crunch time, trying to figure out who wants what for Christmas and the holiday Season.  So I thought about making my family wish lists.  They can fill these out, keep the pretty envelope and send back the wish list.  Then off I go to the mall!

This project was easy, I took out an envelope, sealed it and snipped off the top, using a circle punch to take a nick out of the front.  I then went about decorating the outside.  This PWCO- Oh Christmas Tree stamp is just darling! I then made a tag for the inside.

Enjoy your Sunday.  Happy Krafting, and just out of curiosity, leave me a comment about how you are preparing for your family Holidays?

Hugs,
Tanya

PWCO's ABAC Sunday

Materials Used
E50, E51, E53, RV21
Good Morning,

My PaperWorks Co. Sunday ABAC is a Sweet Treat holder.  Perfect for a birthday party I think.  Becky the Bunny  is just one cute Forest Critter and her matching sentiment would surely bring a smile to a party goers face.

I was totally inspired by Audrey Pettit's creation that I just had to try it out for myself.  I totally CASEd  her project (Copied and Shared Everything) out of pure admiration! Audrey's work is just beautiful.  I may have used different papers, and stamps, but the layout and ideas were totally hers.

Enjoy your Sunday ladies, I hope you have been inspired to go into your craft rooms and create.  Have I passed along some of Audrey's crafty inspiration?  I certainly hope so.

Hugs,
Tanya

PWCO's ABAC Sunday

Materials Used
Y35, Y38, YR68, YG13, E25, B41 R37

Good Morning,

Here is my PaperWorks Co ABAC creation. I used a mini milk carton treat box and turned it into a bird house. An idea I found HERE.

I stamped out PWCO's Tweetheart stamp and punched out the birds with my circle punch.  I then took an acrylic butterfly and traced it onto the remainder of the Tweetheart image to make the butterfly.  I am so used to using an image as is, that it was a really neat experience to transform 1 image into 2 very separate things.  I like the way it turned out.  So do my girls,  I have to make another one as each of them want this one.

Happy Sunday, I hope I have left you inspired.

Tanya

PWCO meets Viva Las Vegas

Good Morning,

Here we have the UBER adorable PaperWorkds Co. Alfy the robot rubber stamp paired up with Viva Las Vegas' SteamPunk Background stamp.

Alfy comes with this sentiment as well, and it came in perfect for my husbands birthday.  I stamped all of the images using brown Staz On ink, then stamped over the background with VersaMark and rubbed gold PearlEx pigment powders over top.  Adding some dimension with popped up cogs. My colring was done using prisma pencils and blending with gamsol, back to my roots so to speak.

This card was fun to make, and received with joy.

Have a great weekend ladies, see you Sunday with my PWCO ABAC creation.

Tanya

PWCO's ABAC Sunday

Good Morning,

Here is my PaperWorks Co. Anything But A Card (ABAC) creation. It is an ODE to Halloween/Fall. This cute pumpkin was inspired by this post HERE.  Thanks Becky for the Inspiration!

To add my own twist to it, I stamped the adorable PWCO  The Perfect Pumpkin image on the front, and used it's matching sentiment for the leaf.  This pumpkin does open when the tulle is removed, so sweet treats can be put inside.  I am gifting this to my DH, who always provides feedback and supports my crafty endeavors.  Thanks James!

Happy Sunday!  Today is my girls "Play Date" day.  So I will have 4 kiddos running around having fun.  We then have to get the pumpkins carved.  We have been informed that one has to be a vampire, and the other a skeleton.   Yes we are pumpkin geeks, but we always end up having the trick-or-treaters commenting on how super they look.  I may not be one to dress up, but I sure do like the carving of the pumpkins, so I am not completely anti-Halloween.

Hugs,
Tanya

Good Morning,

Here is my Anything But A Card Sunday Creation for PaperWorks Co. This week I have chosen to create a lip balm holder. An idea I found HERE. My daughter needed an extra something for her friends sister who is turning 4 this month. I have been eyeing Harriet the Hippo for sometime, and I finally get to use her. I just adore the matching Safari Friends Sentiment Stamp set, and this one just cracks me up! Harriet is sure to bring a smile to the birthday girls face, and what girl doesn't like sweet smelling lip balm.
Here is a top view of the lip balm all nestled into the fancy fold, and when you open it up, it reveals a splash of color, and the lip balm inside. I certainly hope this gets you in the mood to create some ABAC creations of your very own.  Be sure to let me know if it does.

Happy Krafting!

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #92

Good Wednesday Morning!

The new Pixie Cottage Team has been announced and we have many new faces joining us in November.  Congratulations to the new Pixies.  This week we have another fab sketch, and our theme is Sweet as Candy!

The theme had me grabbing  my Have a Sweet Day  Pixie Cottage background stamp.  This stamp can  be purchased at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More, along with other sweet goodies.  Be sure to sign up for her newsletter too, she sends out fabulous coupons quite frequently.

I absolutely adore candy, especially the sour variety.  My oldest has the same sweet tooth.  What will this weeks theme have you grabbing for? What kind of sweets do you like? I can't wait to be inspired by all of you.

Happy Krafting,

Good Morning,
Lot's of photos today, so I will keep the post sort and simple.  I was inspired by this post HERE  to create my PaperWorks Co. Anything But A Card Sunday project.   I found a paper lunch bag, adjusted the trimming  using my own measurements, decorated it with a PWCO PaperCard Kit, and used the fabulous PWCO Beary Best of Friends stamp for the inside of the wallet.

I just adore this project, and in December, I will be posting a tutorial showing you what my measurements were, and how I adapted the fabulous tutorial to fit my needs.  A perfect Christmas gift for someone who has everything don't you think?

Pixie Cottage Challenge #91

Good Morning,

Welcome to this weeks Pixie Cottage Challenge #91. This weeks theme challenge is  "Dark and Spooky".  Of course if you need some help getting started, there is a sketch to help you out as well.
I opted for the theme only this week. I am not sure if I like this card or not. It is growing on me though. What I do like about it is the feeling I got making it. I was inspired by a card in the Sept/Oct/Nov 2011 Take Ten magazine (page 102). The technique was all about dragging your distress inks across the paper for a splash of colour, and to add texture with them by stamping over templates. I started with the distress inks, and continued to stamp my Spooky Tree Background Pixie Cottage Stamp over top of the slash of color. I colored the clouds grey, then added my Vampire guy and fence, stamping some bats around the spooky moon.  Oh and I can't forget the addition of my acrylic/seethrough bling ghost!

Have a wonderful week ladies, I can't wait to see what you create.
Hugs,
Tanya

PWCO's ABAC Sunday

Materials Used
B32, B37, B39, E00, E02, E15, E17, E99, R27, R37

Good Morning,

We have another birthday in the family, so I needed something to dress up a gift card, thus my Gift Card Holder above. This whole project was made using the fab cardstock and matching design paper in one of my PWCO PaperCard kits. I used PWCO’s Get Well Abigail and turned her into a 4 U image instead.  What girl doesn't like getting balloons and flowers on her birthday?  I am going to be making a tutorial soon with measurements etc. on just how I turned an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock into this bright and cheerful gift card holder.  Keep your eyes peeled for that sometime in November.

Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all the Canadian families, and let us all take time to think of one thing we can be Thankful for.

PWCO Recipe Friday

Good Morning,

Welcome to PaperWorks Co. Friday Recipe challenge.  This week, we have a photo inspirational challenge.  Just look a the luscious textures!  We have nuts, apples, various flowers and leaves, smooth clear glass.......I could go on and on, but I won't.

My card is all about the textures and colors.  My youngest daughter keeps giving me leaves as gifts, and since I had a maple leaf sitting on my desk,  I inked the leaf up in 3 different colors and pressed it onto the kraft paper to make the background.  I then took out my punches and colored paper and started trying to recreate the lovely leafy/flowery textures in the photos.  I picked colors from the photo and incorporated them into my PWCO/RAM A New Adventure stamped image, making sure to add some red apples in the tree, and above the image as well.  The clear class baubles were added to mimic the glasses which are just so clear, so smooth, so shiny!

So what do you think?  Has the photo inspired you?  Don't forget to enter your inspired creations, and remember even if you don't have PWCO images, you can still play along.  AND if you do use PWCO images your entry will gain you an extra ballot at the end of the month.

Have a wonderful weekend, see you on Sunday!
Hugs,
Tanya
